Professor Braumoeller organizes the MESO lab (Modeling Emergent Social Order), a group of social-science graduate students who are interested in studying international order and international and subnational conflict using computational methods and translating the results for a general audience.

The MESO Lab is currently being funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York to undertake research in three major areas:

  • Understanding the relationship between international order and international conflict
  • Measuring international order
  • Understanding connections between international and domestic order
